Marigold Lady Skull with Garnet

I am a huge fan of everything October and each year I try to make a piece to celebrate. I actually made this last year, but too late! This one is inspired by Dia de los Meurtos, which I find endlessly fascinating… I chose Marigolds because they are the most common flower featured in the celebration. And garnets, red and orange, for the colors of the foliage outside my window. Layers of sterling silver on the pendant measuring 2”x1.25”, with the three red garnets set in fine silver and the Hessonite Garnet beads measuring 16” with an adjustment to 19”.
